London restaurants+London4Geeks: Inamo on Wardour streetTruly geek restaurant experience: order using your table as an interactive ordering (and more) system. Basically you have a menu of items beamed to your table and a trackpad with a cursor (arrow shaped); from here you can select your drinks, your food and place the order directly; each person at the table can place an individual order. the interactive menu shows pictures of the food inside your plate in front of you; and the entire table is covered with pictures and patterns that can be chosen or set to change randomly at regular interval. you can ping for service, or order more food and drinks and finally order the bill. this is for the geek part; the ambiance is nice modern with music; not ideal for chat but not to imposing on the ears. downstairs there is a bar and the tiny loos. now for the food. I had Vietnamese spring rolls, which were rather disappointed, followed by unagi nigiri, which was excellent, very nice taste, texture and sauce, and finally Soft Shell Crab Maki Rolls, 5 very large maki rolls, with some fried octopus, very tasty and generous. The portions are really generous, almost surprisingly, and the food is overall really good. And with a webcam you can even spy in the kitchen activities. I found this restaurant a lot of fun for the ordering system, the service was fast and attentive, and the food was excellent; the price was surprisingly normal and I can’t wait to go back. |
