I am a fan of public transportation, however since I came to London I have lost a lot of the joy.. I wouldn't mind to be able to commute with my own car (although I don't own one) for a couple of years... travel when I want, on my own.

At least you people have a transportation system. In Tampa we have cars, extremely bad bus service or the ankle express. Mind you we also have the highest number of pedestrian deaths for the country.

lol...
however I must confess that so far it has benefitted me. I live in the section that used to be served only by the S&M.. sorry H&C, and now we have more train less crowded.
however i do agree that, especially to the novice, the swirl line is really unfathomable..

I think it is a politically correct ouroboros: instead of swallowing its tail as it used to it now has its head up its own arse avoiding the perhaps overtly male and heterosexual connotations of the tail within the mouth. From a topographical viewpoint the new layout is obviously designed to promote chaos in both directions when a train breaks down - rather than the unidirectional chaos previously achievable and frequently achieved.

Apologies if anything about this comment offends but years of tubing has rendered me somewhat cynical.

I think maybe the swirl is in reference to a flushing toilet since the service on the circle line is generally shitty.
