book review: the last legion, Valerio Massimo Manfredithis is a great book, a novel that takes place in the context of historical events at the end of the roman empire, when Odoacer became king of Italy and deposed the last emperor, Romulus Augustus. It’s full of adventure, romance, honour; it’s also the story of a journey across Italy and Europe in those days. And there is also a surprise at the end. Another surprise (at least for me) is that it was made in a movie; judging by at least one actor in the cast (Colin Firth in the role of Aurelius – really??) it’s not very promising, but I haven’t seen it, so I cannot judge. Really good book |
