movie review: Exit through the gift shop

My girlfriend suggested that maybe this movie was a hoax, like the Blair Witch Project. That of course threw me into a internet search frenzy at the end of which I must confess I am not sure. Not having direct knowledge of the matter, having NOT heard anything about this stuff before (and why should I, since I mostly don’t give a toss about art), I now am unable to tell what’s true and what’s fiction. Yes, there are bits and pieces about Thierry Guetta out there, but there are people who cast a shadow on it; and the links available seem to be fabricated, even the BBC News piece on Thierry Guetta seems funnily unreal, part of the conspiracy. Is it possible? Is Banksy such a  good a plotter? I don’t know but I know that this movie/documentary or whatever it is, is really funny. The audience was laughing louder and longer than at a stand up comedy gig or at a good comedy movie; the story is hilarious and the real tv style , either true or faked, is perfect. And on top of that, you get to watch some street art in the making..
