this is actually a re-read. many a-years ago I read this book translated in italian and obviously it struck me as a great book. i loved the ideas in it, especially the ideas about revolution and freedom and fighting for ideals and TANSAATAFL. Great SF book. almost without any doubt, this year best book must be Iain Sinclair’s Hackney, That Red-Rose Empire: A Confidential Report. Which, alas, is gone sold out and out of print and despite the promise of short-sighted publisher Hamish Hamilton to reissue a new print, it has not been seen yet. I was thinking to a series of fantasy novels that never made into a movie and i thought of this post. What are the epic novels in sf and fantasy that never made into a movie? I will start with [...] after many years I re read this book that his now a sort of cult book. a trip in the now dated world of drug users in the 50′.. a sort of world of expats junkies meeting in south america or in other parts of the US and exchanging stories and tips. the attempt to [...] based on various lists, here an interesting collections of the top 100 books ever. starts with tolstoy’s war and peace and closes at nr. 100 with Winston Churchill 6 books collection: the second world war. this last one is a real killer and i am planning on not reading it. it’s nice to know something [...] |
