so we are in london visiting and begging for work. yes we are italians who made the mistake to leave london and now we are back because italy is a wasteland and we must run away as fast as we can and so we are begging for work all over europe, actually all over the [...] I have been trying very hard to find words to review this movie. As a boy I was a super heroes fan, but already then I never particularly liked Ironman. However this movie is such an historical low that I have one single word: BLEAH! It’s interesting, especially as a documentary made “from within”, but it’s not the first nor the most interesting – we know plenty about the inequalities of american society and capitalistic economy and we’ve seen better documentaries denouncing the downside of criminal capitalistic corporate greed. worth watching if you haven’t already. a really good movie with an incredible cast: a cameo by david byrne (with almost complete live execution of “this must be the place”), sean penn playing an ageing rockstar a la robert smith, frances mcdormand playing the uncanny wife of the rockstar, harry dean stanton playing the man who invented the wheeled luggage and [...] this is a very interesting movie to watch (again) after watching the more recent remake with Kee-A-Nu Reeves (a.k.a. Neo). if you put this movie in its historical context, it is almost shocking: that someone in the US would dare go against the mainstream of anticommunist feelings to support peace and anti-war ideas. but the [...] |
