almost without any doubt, this year best book must be Iain Sinclair’s Hackney, That Red-Rose Empire: A Confidential Report. Which, alas, is gone sold out and out of print and despite the promise of short-sighted publisher Hamish Hamilton to reissue a new print, it has not been seen yet.
