this is a very interesting movie to watch (again) after watching the more recent remake with Kee-A-Nu Reeves (a.k.a. Neo). if you put this movie in its historical context, it is almost shocking: that someone in the US would dare go against the mainstream of anticommunist feelings to support peace and anti-war ideas. but the [...] rereading this book after all this years is kind of strange.
