It’s interesting, especially as a documentary made “from within”, but it’s not the first nor the most interesting – we know plenty about the inequalities of american society and capitalistic economy and we’ve seen better documentaries denouncing the downside of criminal capitalistic corporate greed. worth watching if you haven’t already. this is a very interesting movie to watch (again) after watching the more recent remake with Kee-A-Nu Reeves (a.k.a. Neo). if you put this movie in its historical context, it is almost shocking: that someone in the US would dare go against the mainstream of anticommunist feelings to support peace and anti-war ideas. but the [...] i thought my review would scale down to “bleah!”. not much to add – tony scott, I like numb3rs. this movie is lame and has got the inevitable happy ending, and that is despite some fairly BS sci-fi. Great movie, this is almost a Woody Allen come back for me. I had found some of his movies in the past 10 or so years, less interesting and less original than in the ancient past. This new movie is, however, a true surprise, a dream made into a movie. We all have dreams and [...] the same story again: wrongly convicted white trash, sister becomes a lawyer to help him, DNA exonerates him and police had conspired against him threatening witnesses. quite a cast. waste of time mostly.. |
